Survivor China: Jean-Robert Snores Like a Choking Walrus and Dave…for the Love! Put Your Pants Back On!!

The game of Survivor is not just a physical and mental game.  The game of Survivor is also a social game and every year I am surprised at contestants who simply do not or will not get that they need to behave appropriately.  You could get voted out for being a totally annoying idiot just as easily as being too strong or too weak.  Case in point.  Jean-Robert the creepy poker guy who snores too loudly and too often.  Not only does he drool when he sleeps but he snuggles up next to all the women to cuddle and keep warm.  Social Jean-Robert, social.  This is also a SOCIAL game.  For Leslie, a.k.a Sister Christian it was his silk shirt and no underwear that turned her off to him.  All the other women also got creeped out by Jean-Robert.  Between spooning Leslie and 70 pound Courtney for heat, Jean-Robert better up his game or he will be sent packing much sooner than later.

Since the tribes have all been out in the “wild” for over a week now the boys are cranky because they are so hungry.  I suppose in the game of Survivor you begin to let your guard down when you are starving, sweaty, dirty, and annoyed so the social game gets harder and harder to remember to play.  James caught the one crab for lunch and was annoyed with the other boys (namely Aaron) who butted heads regarding what to do with the one crab.  What?  Silent James speaks?  He pointed out to the camera that he never ate outside at home or even off of paper plates and cups but he knows more than the guys on his team because he read a survival book.  James wins regarding what to do with Mr. Crab and they decide to boil their one bottom dweller (no, I’m not talking about Jean-Robert) to make stock to flavor the rice.  This in turn made Aaron whine silently to himself in his head like a little ignored puppy.

Back at Zhan Hu Peih –Gee wanted Dave to see that he needed to get some rest and save his energy and boy was she right. Dave is a ticking time bomb and will explode if he doesn’t watch it.  They lost the last challenge because Dave literally ran out of gas.  By the end of the challenge his body looked as if it was made of rubber and the log he was trying to hold onto ruled him, not the other way around.  He pushed himself way too hard back at camp, didn’t eat, and then was annoying to the point of obnoxious in the way he talked to his team.  As Peih-Gee continued to semi-lecture him and urge him to take it easy, all of America and the rest of the world tuning in didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to recognize that Dave was literally and totally about to lose it.  He had no patience left with his tribe and Dave simply just needed to chill out.

Up next was the challenge and it was again a physical confrontation of 3 on 3, hand to hand battle to throw the opposing tribe member off the boat and into the water.  It was women versus women and men versus men.  Their reward would be comfort items such as pillows, blankets, and a tarp.  Courtney and Todd sat out again, the two little self-described munchkins.

Dave stripped down and got totally naked making it uncomfortable for everyone involved including us the viewing audience!  There was something very wrong about Dave stripping down; it made me honestly feel incredibly sorry for him.  Is Dave’s mental state in question?  Now Richard Hatch being naked was normal.  Dave though?  Not so much.  James for Fei Long of course dominated but it was the women of Zhan Hu who obliterated their competition sealing Zhan Hu’s first win of the game.  They kidnapped Leslie for their plunder and as Leslie visited the other camp she shared with the camera that the other team had a leg up moral wise over her tribe.  She had more than a great time there deeming them the happier tribe.  She then blabbed valuable information to them because Leslie runs her mouth from her heart and not her head and forgot she was playing a game.

Back at Fei Long’s camp James and Jean-Robert were loudly blabbing by the water and shared that Leslie wouldn’t last long because she was so weak and neither would Courtney.  They were blabbing so loud Todd and Courtney heard it all and it was all bad about Courtney.  According to them, Courtney would be on the chopping block next and then Jean-Robert pushed James to admit he wanted to shack up with Courtney and other vile discussions that lead Todd to share firmly that James and Jean-Robert were now trash and Todd was going to take out the trash.  It may not be right away or in 3 days or even 6 days but if trash sits around much longer than that it begins to stink.  What happened to sweet, quiet, hardworking James?  James opened his mouth and I wish he had not.

Before Leslie joined back up with her tribe she returned the favor and gave the secret clue to Jaime and then it was challenge time.  Once again it was a mix of brawn and brains.  They had to chop heavy puzzle pieces free, organize them on a pole, and then drag the completed puzzle across the finish line.  Courtney was first for Fei Long and could not cut the wood or ropes because of her weak condition and Zhan Hu easily pulled ahead and won their first immunity thanks to Courtney’s inability to wield the machete correctly.  Courtney blew the challenge and for sure would be on the chopping block but we saw Leslie wasn’t far behind.  She kept opening her mouth and spilling the beans about her great time at the other camp and all she had told the enemy about her tribe.  Aaron especially felt threatened by Leslie because she had too many friends, was a weaker member, and definitely let her heart rule over her brain.

At tribal council that night it was clear that either Jean-Robert, Courtney, or Leslie was going home.  As they cast their votes Courtney had the best line when she voted for Jean-Robert because when he snored at night it sounded like someone was choking a walrus.  With Jean-Robert getting just 2 votes, Leslie, better known as mom was voted out.  Todd’s plan to get rid of Jean-Robert or James soon will now have to wait until they go to tribal council once again.  Maybe by then Courtney can prove that her worth lies in her intellect since most of the challenges have been strength based. If she can manage to do that and assuming Jean-Robert doesn’t change his creepy, wayward, poker tactic ways he very well could be the next to go while skinny and weak Courtney stays to fight another day.
