Survivor China: An Itty Bitty Girl Can Be a Great Big Threat!
Did any of these Survivor’s watch Star Wars? Don’t they remember when Luke Skywalker hit the bullseye of an itty bitty box BLEW up the Death Star? How about the enemies? They refused to have ships standing by to evacuate because what could those tiny rebellion fighters do to the big old giant weapon of mass destruction? Well, one little shot into the right place had the whole empire unraveling. That “nothing” named Luke Skywalker and his rebellion followers caused great big problems for the Emperor. So if Todd thinks he is the invincible ”Emperor” of the group he’d best be remembering that Courtney has been practicing back in the swamps shooting wombats and is more then ready to fly her itty bitty frame into enemy territory and take him out! She is a viable threat and only her arch enemy Jean-Robert seems to know it!! He even calls her out on it but with her deflector shields firmly in place his threats bounce off of her leaving no damage whatsoever and most everybody else none the wiser. Remember during Survivor All Stars when Shii Ann called out Amber as the one to win the million dollars and nobody listened until weeks later when Amber stood up during the finale with her I “heart” Rob shirt, engagement ring, and a big old fat check? Yes people, Courtney is a threat!
Now it was day 19 and at Fei Long it was obvious that Courtney and Jean-Robert needed to resolve their relationship. As I watched them bicker back and forth with Courtney leading the fight I began to get the creeping thought that maybe they needed to get rid of Courtney! She was a dangerous loose cannon that was flying very low under the radar. What Todd and Amanda didn’t know was that she didn’t necessarily like them. She just liked others a lot less! Would frail Courtney be Todd and Amanda’s biggest problem in the end? Her only enemy was Jean-Robert at this point. Courtney really could pull an Amber if she played her cards right and kept her worst enemy Jean-Robert super close.
Back at Zhan Hu the quiet yet scheming Peih-Gee tried to get James to commit to them when the tribes merged. She reminded him that they basically sacrificed someone for him (meaning they didn’t throw the challenge so now an old Zhan Hu member had likely been sent home). She liked James. She wanted him on her side. At camp we notice that James had not gotten Zhan Hu’s immunity idol yet. Peih-Gee wanted to trust James and hoped she could trust James. She said all of these hopeful trusting comments all while the camera man expertly showed us James getting up to go think about stealing their immunity idol. So much for trust! James however wasn’t going to be impatient like Todd and Amanda of which I was so glad! I still couldn’t believe they pulled down their immunity idol in broad daylight in front of everyone and Frosti saw them do it!! James waited until they all left to go down to the water and THEN he went to work prying the idol down. One problem though. There were two plaques and he had to take them both down to find the idol and didn’t have time to put the plaque that wasn’t the idol back up.
As James tucked his second immunity idol neatly away in his bag at Zhan Hu Fei Long was still “discussing” their most recent tribal council. Courtney wanted Jean-Robert gone. Todd finally was starting to clue in that Courtney might be dangerous. Possibly flip to the other side and mess up his plans to get rid of Jean-Robert dangerous. He was now realizing that maybe they needed to get rid of her.
Later at Zhan Hu James went about his merry little way and Jamie noticed that the wooden plaques were missing. She picked up the one James had left and thought he had dropped an immunity idol. Jamie wanted to go look in James’ bag so she did and pulled out his pants and in them were wrapped the two immunity idols. Man that was sneaky of Jamie. James should have kept his bag with him. But, he had it wrapped in his pants pretty good so she didn’t actually look at the idols. Aren’t there unwritten rules in Survivor? You don’t dig through people’s stuff, right? Of course we don’t know if she took a plaque or switched a plaque. We just know Jamie dug in James’ bag. When James got back he noticed the plaque he hadn’t had time to put back up was missing. Boy would he love it if someone had the blank plaque and used it at tribal council and ended up going home! Well, with that said, James had better go check his pants.
Next the tribes came together for a challenge and instead they merged!! Their new buffs were black and apparently they smelled so good!! That’s one thing about watching Survivor from the couch. You don’t know how they smell! They stayed at Fei Long’s beach since they had won the majority of challenges. They also got the typical go make a new flag and eat food to celebrate the new tribe speal. After Jeff revealed they were getting a traditional feast with Chinese cultural performances he told them that the game NEVER stops and they needed to keep that in mind. Jeff just dropped a huge clue for them and about two of them seemed to get it.
At the feast there were Chinese acrobats, several firework shows, dancing, food, and a lot of booze. Courtney wasn’t shy about guzzling her drinks and with her itty bitty frame and not a lot of food in her stomach I’m sure it didn’t take much to knock her senseless.
After the feast they went back to camp and Jean-Robert had to lie down because he ate too much and most of the tribe followed suit. It was now time for them to pick their name which they decided on as Hae Da Fung. In the middle of painting their new tribe flag Jeff showed up! What? Jeff never shows up!! What did Jeff want? Well, Jeff had brought them a little something. He brought a gift for just one of them. It was the individual immunity necklace!! Wow, that was fast! It was now time for the first individual immunity challenge and I bet it had something to do with the feast they just came from or how well they knew their tribe mates.
Sure enough Jeff revealed to them that they would be tested on their recollection of what had happened during the feast and celebration. Courtney was sloshed so she knew she would lose!! Frosti had a horrible memory and Jean-Robert only paid attention to how much he ate. The challenge was over very quickly leaving Frosti with the bad memory in the final two with Jamie. Boy did she need to win it but alas she did not and Frosti won individual immunity!!! Even though Frosti was originally Zhan Hu nobody knew what side he really was on and Jamie was obviously full fledged Zhan Hu. With Fei Long having the numbers surely Jamie, Erik, or Peih-Gee would be going home.
As Frosti glowed in his immunity win James couldn’t quit giggling like a cheerleader after the quarterback asked her out when he told Todd and Amanda that Zhan Hu had a blank board and he hoped they played it. Amanda was more serious as she shared that she saw Jamie as a threat and felt she was kind of shady. What? And Todd isn’t?? Jean-Robert kind of liked her and told Todd that if he got screwed by Todd he would hold Todd responsible, not Amanda and he would be one loud jury member that would basically take him down. Todd of course always playing the game nodded in agreement and swore not to vote him off with his fingers crossed behind his back.
Before tribal council Jean-Robert revealed to James that he really wanted to vote for Peih-Gee. That ticked James off. Jean-Robert needed to vote with his tribe for Jamie and drove poor James right up a palm tree with his whacked thinking. What we all at home wanted to know was whether or not Jamie had the blank board that wasn’t the immunity idol and if she was going to play it. With Jean-Robert annoying his team and Courtney urging votes toward him maybe Jamie would get to stick around for a little bit longer.
At tribal council Jean-Robert ran his mouth of course with Courtney. Those two always ran their mouths at tribal. Wouldn’t it be great if they had a secret alliance? Then James told Jean-Robert that he talked too much and the old Zhan Hu shared about how they spent their time looking for cracks. Well obviously Jean-Robert was the Grand Canyon of cracks in the Fei Long tribe. They needn’t look any further!! Then to my dismay as Jeff called them to cast their votes Jamie played her fake immunity idol. Uh-oh. Shoot. I bet she felt so stupid afterward. I would want to cry if I was her as Jeff loudly said it wasn’t the immunity idol and threw it in the fire. Whaaaaaa. I felt very, very bad for her. Jamie of course got sent home AND probably felt dumb for getting duped. Oh, if only Jamie would unwrapped James’ tucked away pants she would have found that the REAL idol was labeled and she could have switched for the right one. But she didn’t and had her torch was extinguished with James snickering in the background.
Next week Todd’s strategy is everywhere as he suggests they blindside James since he has both idols. With both idols in his possession does James now have all of the power? Will Courtney keep flying low under the radar like Jean-Robert has pointed out? What about the old Zhan Hu? Are they doomed to keep getting voted off by the much stronger Fei Long or will more twists and turns in the game keep the old Zhan Hu alive? Whatever happens Fei Long should not underestimate “The Force” of Courtney or they will find her in the final 2 and most likely winning one million dollars, especially if she keeps her worst enemy Jean-Robert close by her side. Regardless more than likely Peih-Gee or Erik will be saying goodbye to tribal life and hello to Jamie sitting pretty on the jury.
